S106 and S278 Negotiations

During the consultation process for the planning application, particularly for larger sites, the highway authority may suggest that the impact of a proposed development requires an upgrade to the local highway network; or to other forms of local transport, such as bus service/stop improvements or new cycle routes and facilities.

If the Transport Assessment comes to the same conclusion then we would seek to resolve these issues, on behalf of our client, through detailed negotiations with the appropriate authorities; the outcome of which is often incorporated into a Section 106 or Section 278 Agreement. 

We will seek to minimise the impacts of any development through innovative transport planning and, through early due diligence and consultation, we ensure that there are no major unforeseen issues for our clients.
